The great Rift Valley is one of the wonders of the world, stretching from the Middle East (i.e. Syria through the Jordan-Dead Sea-Red Sea), down through Africa, reaching as far as Mozambique.

The staggering scenic view, as you approach from Nairobi is quite unbelievable. The ground suddenly disappears from under you to show the huge expanse of the great rift, stretching for thousands of miles in either direction. Whilst this stunning introduction to the Rift valley is amazing in itself, actually descending and exploring the Lakes area of the Rift in Kenya is a “not to be missed” opportunity.

Day 1 Nairobi – Lake Naivasha – Pick up from your Nairobi hotel and drive to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley with a scenic view of the valley en route. After check in at Lake Naivasha Sopa or similar, have a boat ride on one of the Rift Valley’s fresh water lakes and /or visit Hell’s Gate or the Cresent Island. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

communities.)

On arrival, take a good drive around the lake to take in this natural wonder with thousands of flamingoes wading through the warm water and geysers that send jets of steam 20-30 feet high.
